Pumpkin Lantern (Steamed Egg with Pumpkin)

Swanson No Added MSG Clear Chicken Broth 250mL
Egg 2 pcs
Pumpkin (small size) 2 pcs
Pumpkin washed and dried. Cut off the top (about 1/3 of the way down the pumpkin) to form mini-pumpkin bowl (keep the top as lid), then set aside.
Use a small spoon to scoop out the seeds, then scrape out and keep the pulp. Set aside. (Thin more the inner wall of pumpkin to let it turn tender easier).
Bring appropriate amount of water to boil in a steaming pot over high heat. Place the pumpkin with lid inside to steam for 15-20 mins or until 80% cooked. Take out to cool down and set aside.
Egg whisked and sifted. Add first Swanson No Added MSG Clear Chicken Broth and mix well, then pumpkin pulps to mix further.
Pour the mixture into mini pumpkin bowl. Cover with cling wrap, steam for 15 mins and serve.

  1. Rub pumpkin rind with some salt while washing helps to remove the dirt more thoroughly.
  2. Steam the egg without the pumpkin tophelps to reduce cooking time.
  3. The pumpkin pulpscan be consumed to avoid wastage.
